Meet the Team
| 11/21/2005 11:07:55 PM As the season finishes, I would like to thank the parents and swimmers for the season of good times and memories. Now on to recognition: Most Improved: Courtney Beck Most Inspirational: Erika Christensen Most Valuable Teammate: Danya Nelsen Coaches Award: Lis Tso Team Captains: Katrina Kok and Danya Nelsen Scholar Athletes: Erika Christensen, Chelea Schoeweiler, and Lis Tso Districts has come and gone and the results are Hudson's Bay is 3rd. We had some great swims to start off the meet. It was a tough decision on who will be swimming which relays, but in the end, a school record was broken! Kiah, Annie, Lis and Lauren combined for a 2:03.81 to start the meet off with 5 second team improvement. The 200 Freestyle was next on the list with Annie, Erika and Monique scoring for us in this event. The 200 IM was along the same lines with both Danya and Kiah pacing 3rd and 4th respectively. Lauren was 2nd in the 50 Free and 100 Freestyles with good competition from Heritage. In the 100 Fly, Lis had a remarkable 3 second improvement to bump herself into the All-Time Top 10 and place 4th at Districts; Katrina came through getting within tenths of a second of her best time to place 8th. In the 100 Freestyle as mentioned before Lauren, but also Katie Borst also placed for Hudson's Bay in this event to score a few more points. The individual race of the day went to Danya in the 500 Freestyle. Executing the plan set out before, she took with 200 yards to go and held on to win the event with a new PR and moved herself up quite a bit in the All-Time Top 10; Monique and Erika both swam PRs in this event as well and scored some much needed points. The 200 Free Relay team of Katrina, Kiah, Erika and Danya was 4th in this event with a near best time. Brooke, Lis and Katie all placed in the 100 backstroke for some points, this is where we started to make up a little bit of ground on the Skyview team. And then the final individual event was the 100 Breaststroke with Annie and Kiah both getting a spot on the podium, not best times, but placing pretty much where they were expected and getting a few more points to close the gap against Skyview and apparently Mountain View. The final event, the 400 Free Relay started out fantastic with Lauren swimming a near best time to dominate the field, Annie, Lis and Danya brought it home for a second place finish in this event. Not a best time, but pretty good considering everybody was starting to get a little tired. Great Job!!
